The Going Deeper Continuing Education Workshop Series with John McConnell is for students and yoga teachers who want to deepen their understanding of the yoga practice.

Ever avoid certain poses in your own home practice? Have you ever felt nervous about teaching more advanced postures? This workshop series will focus on good practice techniques and effective teaching methodologies to help you find more ease in your personal practice and your teaching.

Each session, in addition to its main focus, will also include appropriate philosophy and pranayama teachings.

Session Two – Going Deeper: Backbends
Backbends can truly be an exhilarating and joyful experience when done with proper alignment and focus. For some backbends are the most enjoyable postures, for others they are the most dreaded.  Wherever you are on that spectrum, this workshop is about making backbends more accessible and enjoyable.

We will work on backbends in a safe, fun and encouraging environment, and you will leave the workshop with a deeper understanding of this expansive type of asana. From baby cobra to drop backs we will be focusing on proper alignment along with the flexibility needed to tap into your most exhilarating, blissful, and best backbend ever.
