Evolution Yoga Childbirth Education Weekend Class

“To move, to know, to breathe, to be”
Birth is a physical dance between you, your support partner, and your baby.  Evolution Yoga’s Childbirth Education is rooted in physical tools to use during this dance of labor.

Birth is power in breath – our “labor companion” who is always there for us as long as we remember to come back to it, again and again.  Connection to breath is a foundational tool in Evolution Yoga’s Childbirth Education.

Birth is a practice of letting go – of our hardened expectations, of our “talking” minds (that are usually saying something unhelpful!), and of our fears, so that we can be open to the experience of all types of birth – medicated, unmedicated and cesarean birth.  Evolution Yoga’s Childbirth Education teaches to all birth choices, because information is power.

The preparation for your baby’s birth can seem exciting and overwhelming.  I sometimes have students ask me, “How can I figure out what I really need to know??”  or make comments like “I’ll take a birth class, mostly for my partner’s sake.”  Evolution Yoga’s hands-on Childbirth Education Courses are an opportunity for you and your partner to experience and practice together how to navigate the labyrinth of birth physically and emotionally.

Our weekend course includes:

  • The “how” and “why” of using movement in labor
  • Helping baby find the best position for birth in the weeks leading up to labor
  • Anatomy and physiology of birth
  • Stages and phases of labor, including the power of pushing
