The pelvic floor is a vital region in every woman’s body. The muscles of the pelvic floor support internal organs, urinary function, and play a crucial role in sexual response and enjoyment. They also work with the abdominal and back muscles to stabilize and support the spine.
In this 2.5-hour women’s workshop, we will locate, relax, stretch, strengthen and exercise the various muscle groups of the pelvic floor, hips and lower abdominal muscles and:
- learn how to integrate this newly discovered awareness into daily functional activities and yoga asana (postures)
- explore introductory breathing techniques and experience yoga postures using supportive props
- discuss basic hip and pelvic floor anatomy and the 3 diaphragms, which play a crucial role in sexual response and enjoyment
Change is a constant when it comes being a woman, and the pelvic floor is no exception! Your pelvic floor will change during your lifetime. Understanding these changes will give you some control over your pelvic health and overall quality of life. Health and wellness are driven by education, activity, and first-hand experience.
No previous yoga experience required. This workshop is for women only.
