As Americans we may feel used to going non-stop, overworking and pushing. Sometimes, even within yoga practice, moments of stillness and pure quiet can be rare.
The yin yoga workshop by Annelies Smith is a quiet, gentle practice during of holding postures in an attentive, calm way for three to five minutes.
The combination of longer holds and relaxed positions relieves the joints and frees the flow of prana. Yin Yoga is perfect for meditation prep as it slows us down, opens, and prepares the body for sitting.
