Transportation in Kid’s Yoga brings adventure
June 17th, 2009 by Jane
Transportation is one theme in children’s yoga that many young yogis particularly like. Whether we’re spreading our arms/wings to soar through the yoga sky, hopping in cars (staff or mountain pose) over bumpy roads, expanding with breath like a hot air balloon, or chugging our arms like a train- it’s easy to see how 3-5 years olds transform their ordinary experience into an extraordinary adventure. I encourage you and your child at home to depart from one room to another- using your imagination, your body and your breath- see where it will take you.
This picture is of Rosie and I, one of my regular sweeties in Creative Kid’s yoga. One of Rosie’s favorite poses is Downward Facing Dog.
