1.  How did you begin your journey with yoga?

I found yoga in 1998.  At the time I was suffering from a rock climbing injury and a wounded heart.  I was desperate to have yoga heal my shoulder and too my surprise it also mended my broken heart and renewed my faith.   In the beginning I could barely hold a pose for more than a few seconds never mind actually breath during a pose.  My job was insane and it took my complete dedication to just show up to class.  After a few months I was addicted to yoga.  My range of motion in my shoulder was returning and my body was alive again.  Then eventually one day I found my breath – my steady even breath.

2.  How does your yoga help you off the mat?

A wise teacher told me the answer to struggle is simply to soften and expand.  When daily life takes those unexpected turns I just try to soften and expand.

3. What do you do for fun?

I love to climb mountains, cave underground and dream BIG. I run in the early morning and curl up with my family in the evening.
