It takes the whole body to walk and run…
Runners pay a lot of attention to what is going on in their legs, but are often less aware of what is happening in their hips, spine, ribs, shoulders, and how they are holding their head.

In this workshop you will learn about 3 “landmarks” (feet, hips and shoulders) in your body that are important for effective and graceful walking and running. One of the hallmarks of any performance (not only athletic) is a sense of ease and grace that the performer has.  Discover this ease and gracefulness in your walking and running through the Feldenkrais-Method.

You will gain an increased awareness of how these three parts have to work together so you can run or walk with the skills, endurance and speed you want. This workshop is designed for everybody – you do not have to be an athlete to enjoy and benefit from it.

If you run, walk, hike or play sports, this is the workshop for you! But even if you do not exercise you will learn to walk with more ease and pleasure in daily life.

A series of Awareness Through Movement classes will enable you to make dynamic improvements in your walking and running. Uwe will focus in this workshop on the coordination between shoulder and hip movements and how to use your whole body to walk or run faster with less effort and pain. After the workshop Uwe will offer a short gentle running session, so you can identify your improvements from this workshop (please bring your running shoes).

You do not need prior Feldenkrais experience to enjoy this workshop. If you never taken a Feldenkrais class before, please show up 10 minutes early, so Uwe can explain the main principles of the Feldenkrais-Method.
