Done barefoot to diverse and inspiring music, Nia is a transformational movement practice that teaches you to be more joyful, expressive and alive in your body, both inside and outside the studio. Nia is holistic, engaging the body, mind, emotions and spirit. Nia draws from the dance arts, the martial arts and the healing arts to create purposeful movement that will help you grow and learn.
Classes are generally one hour long and done in athletic or yoga-type clothing. Nia is practiced by people of all walks of life, ages and fitness levels. As classes are taught in levels, people new to Nia can easily step into a Nia class and feel right at home. No experience necessary! Our primary intention in class is to discover and play with the joy of movement. Classes are high energy, playful and a whole lot of fun!
There are three Nia classes taught weekly at Evolution Studio on a drop in basis: Saturday at 8 – 9 am, Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 – 8:30 pm.
