Join a public conversation on the future of universal access to health care in Vermont

The implications for VT of federal healthcare legislation will be discussed by:

· Susan Elliot, Community Liaison, Office of Congressman Peter Welch
· Susan Besio, Director, State of Vermont Office of Vermont Health Access and Health Care Reform

Then we’ll hear from and discuss the future of heath care in Vermont with:

· Steve Maier, Chair, Vermont House Health Care Committee

· Deb Richter, MD, Vermont Health Care for All, and
· Peter Sterling, Coordinator, Vermont Campaign for Health Care Security

There is a growing recognition that now is the time to create a health care system here that represents Vermont values of equity and fairness, and that decouples health care from employment. These are ideas that will be discussed when the legislature reconvenes in January. December will be a good time to move the conversation forward.
