Anusara Moment: The Shakti of Walmart
I recently found myself among the teeming humanity and holiday products of Walmart. Such a diversity or people and things. A very large women being pushed in a wheelchair by her daughter (just like me and my mom!). The laughing shopper begging her friends to help her cut down selections of clothes from her cart.
How can there be so many curtains, which I needed, in so many sizes? How is it possible to track down a tiny velcro item in a football-field of space? Can you believe they sell at cat hat?
Salespeople helped me. The middle aged hardware clerk who might not have taken a bath or changed clothes in a week. The teens at the registers with their first-job rawness and excitement. The matron in crafts who knew everything. I was struck by the Shakti of it all.
Shakti is pure Divine energy. It does not judge or distinguish between forms of this energy. Here in Walmart, I’m surrounded by the amazing power and energy of people and product moving in some direction. I felt connected. The same consciousness that sees through my eyes; sees through all others. The same energy that makes a plastic Santa makes a fir tree. It’s all so different; and so the same.
