Anusara Moment: More than. . .
On the fourth day of hosting my sister and 4-year old niece visiting from Seattle, I was having fun. Laughter, chatter, raucous mealtimes, swimming, and romps in the back yard.
And everywhere I turned there were Cheerios and watercolor paint plops. On the car seats, the sofa and the patio stones. Goings-on included a naked child trying to pee in the yard or soak me with tub water.
I was tired. So I took a break to walk my dog in the woods. After a few mindless steps, I stopped in my tracks to say to myself, “God, give me more than I think I have inside.”
I looked around as my consciousness expanded to embrace the surrounding deep, peaceful greenery. My heart grew beyond my own fatigue as the forest hugged me.
As we go within, our consciousness begins to extend beyond the body and mind and take into itself all that it encounters. The self becomes the greater Self. The result is peace, amidst the Cheerios.
