Anusara Moment- Beauty

September 11th, 2009 by workingwellvt

When I was 20, I visited Amsterdam in the winter.

Among the almost unfathomable art offerings of the city, I was most struck with the Van Goegh exhibits. Standing before these works of purity and color, I bathed in the splendor. Their radiant beauty is still imprinted in my mind, more than three decades later.

Saundarya, a Sanskrit term, means having the experience of beauty. With mindful attention, such experiences expand to a state of being – bliss or beatitude. And expand again to include objects of daily living as well as art.

We’ve been focusing for a few weeks on enlightenment or the process of waking up, transforming daily life, truly seeing reality.

What are you seeing?
