Kirtan is both a celebration and a spiritual practice. It is both a time to meditate and a time to dance. A time to share in community and to take a personal journey. We sing mantras, both in call-and-response and all-together style. This is a practice of quieting your mind, diving deep into your heart and allowing your intuition to guide you and your inner being to sing into the world.
American Raga has been holding Kirtan privately every Monday since July with very few exceptions. We have an omni-talented group of musicians and ritual facilitators that have developed a tight friendship through this process. We have enjoyed sharing our music and its many incarnations at the Burlington Yoga Conference and Vermont Yoga Festival.
