Class Descriptions:
Baby Yoga (2 months to pre-crawling) is an interactive
class for babies, ages 2 months to crawling, and their parents or caregivers.
Through song, games, and massage, we introduce basic yoga poses and concepts.
Activities increase body awareness, aid in digestion, and cultivate a
more relaxed state for the baby.
New Explorers Yoga (10 – 18 months) - This class
is geared toward baby explorers who are moving past a seated position.
These young crawlers and walkers will delight in song, stretching, and
a discovery of spaces under, over, through and around yoga poses made
by themselves as well as their parent/caregiver.
Tots on the Move (18 mo - 2½ yrs) – Physical
play joins creativity in this toddler yoga and movement class. In addition
to singing voices and stretching bodies, we will stretch imaginations
as we fly and slither into new yoga worlds. Early musical rhythm is used
as a tool for focusing the minds and bodies of this active age group.
Creative Kids Yoga (2½ -5 yrs) Fly
like a bird, roar like a lion, stand tall like a tree. Kids Creative
Yoga blends yoga poses with imaginative games, storytelling and friendship-building
activities. The end result: a fun, peaceful atmosphere where your child
can feel confident to create and blossom. Your child will come away from
kids creative yoga more relaxed, focused and expressive physically and
emotionally.
Kid's Yoga K-2nd Grade: This class builds on all the concepts from Creative Kid's Yoga. These are active classes which include all of the elements of an adult yoga class such as sun salutations, twists, back-bending, hip-opening, forward-bending and inversions taught in an age-appropriate way that is fun and inspiring. Mediation, breathwork, and self-acceptance are also an important part of these classes. This drop-off class for school-aged children helps build strength, coordination, focus and self-esteem. Jai!
Circus Yoga for Families (6-10 yrs) Circus Yoga blends the consciousness of yoga with the communal celebration of circus. Circus Yoga fosters connection, play and communication through , Group Games & Invention, Creative Movement, Circus Skills, Balance, Partner Yoga, and Partner Acrobatics. Some of the core principles we will work from in Circus Yoga classes are Courage, Trust, Listening, Cooperation, and Celebration! We will establish a strong and safe foundation for all skills in this class - no circus, acrobatic, or yoga experience required!
Here’s what parents are saying about the kids classes at evolution:
“Just wanted to let you know how much the kids and I enjoyed your
class today. We have tried several yoga classes for kids before and they
all fell short of my expectations. You are the first teacher I've encountered
who not only is a qualified yoga instructor, but also has a strong grasp
of what is developmentally appropriate for the kids. We are all thrilled
to get to share this experience with you. Thanks!”
-Lauren, Eliza (4 ½) and Rowan (2 ½)
“Thank you for a great class! Finn had a blast and even showed
his dad tree pose and down dog when he came home. He really opened up
during this class.”
-Tre, mother of Finn (21 months)
