Alison Aiken, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist & Yoga Instructor

Alison Aiken graduated from the University of Vermont in 1998 with a degree in Physical Therapy. She completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. Dr. Aiken worked at Alice Hyde Medical Center in upstate New York before returning to Vermont in 2001. There she began a career at Fletcher Allen Health Care where her practice focused on treating patients with muscle and joint injuries, chronic pain, neuromuscular disorders and post-surgical rehabilitation. For several years she specialized in running injuries, knee and foot pain and shoulder injuries. Since joining evolution she has recieved training in pelvic instability, mechanical treatment of low back pain and restoring abdominal function after pregnancy due to diastasis recti and muscle imbalances.
After obtaining her yoga teaching certification in 2005 from The Yoga Institute, she began to integrate yoga therapy techniques into her physical therapy practice to help her patients attain body awareness, pain free movement and proper breathing patterns. Since then, she has taught courses in mat and chair yoga and has led a successful program for people seeking to manage their back pain through yoga.
Alison is a distance runner and rock climber who understands the importance of fitness, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle, and she has given lectures on the importance of exercise for patients with cardiac disease and Diabetes. As an endurance athlete, she understands the passion and desire that people have to return to sport – and to their regular daily routines - after an injury. It is important to her that physical therapy treatment and yoga therapy are tailored to meet the individual’s needs, style and comfort level.
Meagen Satinsky PT
Physical Therapist and Yoga Instructor
Meagen received her Master’s degree in physical therapy in 2000 from Simmons College in Boston, MA. Combining over 12 years of PT experience in acute care, rehab, and outpatient settings with the application of yoga therapy, she offers an integrated healing approach. Her unique perspective integrating PT and yoga helps support clients with movement and pain challenges. She has focused on acute and chronic movement and pain disorders, specifically back pain and pelvic floor dysfunction. She welcomes individuals seeking a fresh, grounded approach to effective evidence-based methods for improving comfort and function.
Meagen began her exploration into yoga following a back injury in 2005. This experience redirected her life path to focus on bridging the gap between healthcare and complimentary alternative approaches to medicine. In 2006, she completed a 250-hour yoga teacher certification in Hatha yoga with a focus on Vinyasa yoga, and is currently working toward her 500-hour certification of therapeutic yoga.
Meagen teaches our Yoga for a Healthy Back 6-week series.
In 2008, Meg took to the road where various travel opportunities enabled her to work and study as a physical therapist and yoga teacher and student in Northern California, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Mysore, India and now at Evolution Physical Therapy and Yoga. Following her path to merge the science and art of healing has been an intensive study both professionally and personally. Approaching every interaction as an opportunity to listen and to learn, these cumulative experiences have exposed her to new ideas and approaches in solving complex health and movement puzzles encountered in clinical and life situations.
Creating an environment for learning, practicing and sharing with those who cherish the process continues to be a humbling experience. Meagen gratefully dedicates her practice to her teachers.
