Janet Carscadden PT, Cert MDT
Owner, Evolution Physical Therapy and Yoga Studio

Ms. Carscadden graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Western Ontario, Canada in 1995. Early on in her career, she developed an interest in treatment of the spine. In 1998 Ms. Carscadden received board certification in mechanical diagnosis and treatment of the spine from the McKenzie Institute USA. From 1998 – 2006 Ms. Carscadden treated patients at the Spine Institute of New England. During this time she developed treatment protocols for orthopedic spine post-surgical patients. From 2000-2004 she led a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, a nurse, and psychologists as clinical lead of interdisciplinary programs at the Work Enhancement & Rehabilitation Center. From 2000-2005 Ms. Carscadden has performed annual lectures at the University of Vermont Physical Therapy Program.

Her speaking resume includes presentations on the treatment of back pain and injury prevention at UVM Family Practice Grand Rounds, UVM Neurosciences Grand Rounds, UVM Primary Care Conferences and the UVM Orthopedic Spine Conference. Ms. Carscadden collects clinical research as part of a UVM clinical trial comparing two treatments for low back pain.

Ms. Carscadden’s practice has expanded to include a specialization in treatment of back pain during pregnancy and developing yoga programs for back and neck pain. In the last two years, she has started using biofeedback to assist clients with whiplash learn to reduce their pain through re-education of their neck and back muscles.

Heather Cracower PT

Heather smilingHeather graduated from the University of Toronto, Canada, in 2003 with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. Prior to that she had been a Physical Education Teacher and also did wilderness programming for individuals with disabilities. Since becoming a PT, Heather has specialized in orthopedic physical therapy with an emphasis on treating the spine. A specific area of interest is back and pelvic pain in pre and post natal clients. Heather utilizes a McKenzie mechanical approach for evaluation and treatment. She also incorporates elements of manual techniques such as craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, and strain counterstrain into her practice. As well, she is a certified Thai Yoga Massage practitioner. Heather has spent the past year working as a traveling physical therapist, experiencing a diversity of work environments, and she has now found her way back to the most wonderful state of all, Vermont.

Sabrina Gibson

Sabrina GibsonSabrina Gibson is the office manager here at Evolution. She is also an herbalist who has studied with Michael Moore in New Mexico at the Southwest School of Botanical Medicine and with Rosemary Gladstar and other amazing herbalists in the Advanced Herbal Program at Sage Mountain here in Vermont. She brings her love and knowledge of herbs to Evolution by making their post-partum sitz bath and mat sprays. She took her first yoga class in 1985 and has practiced yoga on and off over the years. These days her practice is very much on. Her most challenging and rewarding work is being a mother to her two beautiful children, Avena and Ryder. It is here where her deep yoga breath really comes in handy.

Jen Labie
Insurance Billing Specialist

Jen Labie received her B.A. in Studio Art from the University of Vermont.  She studied pottery, batik and majolica painting in Florence, Italy and continues to be inspired by Mediterranean designs in her own work.  Currently she has a studio in Ferrisburgh and teaches both batik and pottery.  Her yoga practice has always complimented her artistic endeavors.   Naturally, she was drawn to this unique setting of yoga studios combined with a medical office.  Jen joined the Evolution staff in April 2008 and works in the Physical Therapy Department.
